Why CLC Offers Office Hours

In 2018, I was helping a regional non-profit transition to using EveryAction as the org’s Communications Director. Before we got access to  EveryAction, I felt pretty confident in our team’s ability to manage contact lists, set up phone banks, and send emails - whatever we needed to figure out, I could do it!

And then came the learning curve - moving all of our existing data, changing all of our processes, and figuring out workarounds and tricks in a brand new system. Very quickly our team was swamped, overwhelmed and frustrated.

This tool was supposed to make our lives easier, but that promise was feeling farther and farther away!

Trying to help our team succeed, I looked everywhere for support: reading to the bottom of almost every help center article, following up on numerous support requests, and scraping together process documentation. 

I looked everywhere for examples of how other organizations had set up their code structure, but kept coming up with the same bland support answer: “There are lots of ways to do it, you have to choose your own strategy.” There were so many moments in that migration process where my life would have been much simpler with a little live support from an expert who had seen the problem I was having before and was ready to roll up their sleeves and talk best practices. 

When I started CLC Toolbox in 2020, I knew that one of the first things I wanted to provide our clients was the support I needed: a dedicated space to bring EveryAction and data-related questions.
